Sell horns for Blåsemaker Grønnesby - goat horns, sheep horns and cow horns

Give new life to your horns

I buy horns (min. 30 cm) - preferably goat horns, but also sheep horns and cow horns - for use in traditional Norwegian wind instruments.

Searching continuously - all year round

Do you have horns lying around, or do you have access via a farm, slaughterhouse or other? I give them new life as musical instruments - as bukkehorn, reed horns, cow horns or flutes.

What I'm looking for

  • goat horn (prioritised), also sheep horn and cow horn
  • Length: minimum 30 centimetres (measured along the inside of the arch)
  • Preferably whole, clean and untreated horns

Length & measurement

Measure along the curve from the base (at the skull) to the horn tip. Place the measuring tape on the inside of the horn, not in a straight line.

Condition & hygiene

  • Dry, clean is best
  • Small cracks can be assessed - send pictures
  • If the horns are raw - put them in salt

Price & delivery

  • Price depends on species, size and quality (or donate if you like!)
  • Delivery: by post (well packaged) or in person by appointment
  • Payment by appointment (Vipps, bank etc.)

Do you have horns? Get in touch!

Feel free to send a picture + measurements and tell me briefly about the number of horns and condition. I will respond quickly and agree on price and delivery.

Which horns are most interesting?
Goat horn is the first choice. Sheep and cow horns are also considered, provided they are of good length and quality.
How do I pack for despatch?
Add salt if the horns are fresh, wrap in paper/fabric, then in cardboard or bubble wrap. Avoid moist materials. Fill voids in the box so that the horn does not move.
Can I deliver in person?
Of course! Please contact us to arrange time and place.
